Advantages: Full of action, great characters, good plot

Disadvantages: --

Point Blanc is the sequel to Stormbreaker (reviewed) and is the second book in the fantastic Alex Rider series written by Anthony Horowitz. Alex is a 14 year old who is reluctantly working for MI6. He is sent away to a boarding school in the French Alps which has a perfect record for curing children who have had problems at other schools and been expelled.

However when two parents of the children who go there disappear, Alex is sent in to investigate.
I really like the characters in this book. There are the two criminal masterminds Dr.Grief and Mrs Stellenbosch. Dr Grief is a very cunning and mysterious person and you can imagine him being very creepy. While Mrs Stellenbosch is the one with the strength and muscles and you would not want to get on the wrong side of her. I also think Alex Rider is a fantastic character as readers can relate to him.

This book is full of action and therefore an action adventure book like the prequel and there is always something exciting happening. The book and series is similar to a younger version of James Bond and also has lots of gadgets like an exploding ear ring, Discman that converts to saw and much more!

Overall I would say that Point Blanc is a fantastic and well worth a read for children over 11 especially males, but anyone could still enjoy this great book. I found it very hard to stop reading it like all of Anthony Horowitz books which are very cleverly written and enjoyable. If you have not read Stormbreaker I suggest you read that first as it is first in the series and this book will make more sense after reading that. The book has many twists and this also makes it very exciting.

I am rating the book five out of five as it was enjoyable to read and I think all male teenagers should read it!

The book can be bought quite cheaply or can be bought in a set with the other books from some websites.

5/5 Recommended for all!
