This is a book that anyone could read, it's not far fetched stuff. I appear to be one of the few people that enjoyed the film, but for those of you that loathed it the book is completely different. Brin dallies with a lot of political issues in this, that don't appear in the film. Gordon the Postie just wants to settle down, and most of the time is propelled by his lies. He isn't the only one telling porkies to make the most of the situation though, and I was surprised at his lack of appreciation for the ironies that seemed to pop up quite often. Completely absent of the schmaltzy "god bless America" stuff that dragged the film down, this is a good ... Read the complete review
