From relative obscurity through to worldwide fame and out the other side, Liverpudlian Kevin Sampson's second novel Powder is simply hilarious. Never have I laughed so much at any one book. The Grams are a little known band playing wedding receptions until they are spotted by ex-junkie Guy who's just happed to set up his own record label - ReHab Records. Virtually overnight Keva, the lead singer and songwriter and his band Beano, Tony and the superb Mr James Love are transformed into superstars, as is their manager the nerdy Wheezer.
