they are queen riders mainly. Craftmasters and their craftsmen provide necessary services to support Pern, both holders and Weyrs. I have been a big fan of Anne McCaffrey for years. I discovered The White Dragon in my high school library. After reading it, I was fascinated with the thoughts of dragons living on a world, where no technology exsisted. The White Dragon got started my love of Scifi/Fantasy which still goes on strong to this day, 23 years ago. I would recommend anyone who's a dragon fan to get a copy of this book to read. ===Who is the author?=== Anne McCaffrey is one of the world s best -loved science/fiction fantasy writers, who has won the Hugo and Nebula Awards, as well as many others. This took me by surprise a little when I first started reading it, but after a while ...

like to believe in after years of being jaded by various wars that have sprung up across Earth. In this 9th novel in the Dragon series by McCaffrey, we get an explanation of how and why colonists set out for Pern and, also, how the fantastic dragons were created. This seems rather odd as, ordinarily, you might expect an explanation of a strange new world to come at the start of a series. I suppose this may be an afterthought on McCaffrey's part to make this fantasy series seem more like traditional science fiction or perhaps to address questions by her fans. The main characters in this novel are Sallah Telgar, Sean Connell and Sorka Hanrahan. Sallah is one of ...
