I've been into Terry Pratchett for a number of years now and his books have always been great. I began with "Mort" on a school trip and was hooked from there on in. The basic concept is that there is a place called the Discworld, a revolving world travelling through space on the back of 4 elephants which ride on the back of a gigantic turtle. This is an obvious play on the way in which people thought of Earth. There's a lot of magic on the Disc, a wizarding university, witches abounding and a whole menagerie of mythical creatures to be enjoyed. The world is copmplete in every detail and a different aspect of it is explored in each book. ... Read the complete review

I have a bad feeling I am about to make a coupple of enemies now: I am not a Terry Pratchett fan! Ok. It's out in the open, so let's move on. I have read quite a few books by Terry Pratchett, mostly of them belongs to the series of Discworld. I liked the first book I read, (it happened to be "Mort", by the way), and I liked the second ("Little gods") but then I just lost the interest. Yes. They were funny. But I get the feeling that if you've read one of them, you've read them all. Even though the stories are different, they are still similar enough. What I DO like by Terry Prathcett, is the book ... I first heard of Terry Pratchett a few years ago when some of my friends said their brothers read the books and they were meant to be quite good. I thought I'd try them out. I found out that alot of his books came under one set, 'The Discworld Novels'. He has wrote alot of other books, but the Discworld Novels were good ones to start off with. I went out and bought 'The Colour of Magic', the first Discworld Novel, and started to read it. At first I was intrigued, now I'm obsessed! His books are fantastic! The Discworld Novels are based on the Discworld (funnily enough) which is a big snowglobe (they live inside the snowglobe) on the ... Read the complete review

A world that only exists because probability is not only curved, it's kinked and because of Terry Pratchett's unique imagination. It's the Discworld, a world carried on the back on a giant Star Turtle, Great A'Tuin who carries the four world elephants Tubul, Great T'Phon, Jerakeen and Berilia on who's mighty shoulders rests the Discworld. The Star Turtle swims ponderously through space to an unseen destination unaware of the adventures that are happening on the Disc wrote by Terry Pratchett and brought to life by the expressive voice of Tony Robinson. Dragons, thief's, wizards, demons, gods and boxes that walk around on ... Read the complete review
