Prelude To Foundation. Author - Isaac Asimov., Synopsis - This book was written in 1988 and was the last Foundation book yet to be written. As with Star Wars not all 6 Foundation novels where written chronologically. It, as the name suggests, should be considered the 1st Foundation book. At 460 pages long, here are just a few pointers to the virgin foundation reader. The book wastes no time in introducing the reader to Hari Seldon, the mathematical genius of physcohistory. Which is the prediction of future events by mathematically understanding MASS human behavior. Hari travels to Trantor to give a lecture but ends up ... Read the complete review

Prelude to Foundation was written after, but in terms of the Foundation series’ own chronology set before the rest of the series. Set on the world of Trantor, the centre of the Galactic Empire, it follows the progress of mathematician Hari Seldon, as he tries to develop his fledgling theory of Psychohistory. Psychohistory is the mathematical prediction of future events (in terms of probability ratios). At the beginning of the book, Seldon has delivered a paper on this new concept at a prestigious mathematical conference. This paper has caught the eye of the Emperor, among other people… Emperor Cleon I is not impressed when Seldon tells him that the theory is ... Read the complete review

Ironically, Prelude to foundation was one of the last foundation novels written by Isaac Asimov. In his preface to this , he mentions his intention to write many more, and his intention to 'hang on as long as possible'. Sadly Asimov died in 1992, 4 years after publishing this. Chronologically this novel predates all other foundation novels. It is the story of psycho-historian Dr Hari seldon, his arrival ot Trantor to deliver a landmark lecture on psychohistory- the theory of predicting the future. What Hari doesn't realise is how significant this prophetic is to the Empire. The mathematician then becomes them sot weanted man on the ... Read the complete review

This is the first book in what eventually turned out to be a six book foundation saga. The theme to fun throughout the book deals with physcohistory which is the prediction of the future by calculating how the masses of people around the galaxies react to various events and stimuli. The creator of physcohistory is/was Hari Seldon and this book is all about his early life and the people around him and his eventual journey into physcohistory discovery and creation. Hari travels around various galaxies and planets and along ... Read the complete review
