Advantages: A thrilling and engaging tale both for adults and children

Disadvantages: At times a little tedious when discussing Morgenstern's original version

Goldman at his greatest in my opinion.

The book far outshines the film for engagement and romance, plus the characters are far more relatable in the book.

I won't go into the description to much as it's situated directly above the reviews but in case you've skipped it the story revolves around two lovers whose untimely seperation is the dice roll that leads to a series of unusual events and characters, including a six fingered man, a impossible strong giant and a prince with a passion for violence.

This is the perfect book to read with a hot drink on a night to yourself. You'll find yourself falling in love with Westley, rooting for Buttercup and praying for Inego.

A book suitable for children and adults alike (in fact Goldman was read the original S.Morgenstern when he was ill in bed - this is an abridgment he wrote for his son.) It also contains great morals such as "life isn't fair" and proves that the path of true love rarely runs smooth.

Summary: A perfect bedtime read
