~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ P.S I LOVE YOU ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Holly and Gerry were childhood sweethearts. They met when they were in school and had been inseperable ever since. They had formed a foursome with their two friends Sharon and John and together the four of them lived the free happy life in Dublin.
Holly and Gerry had become best friends and soulmates instead of just partners. They shared everything and their wedding day was the happiest of both of their lives. They settled back and began to look forward to spending the rest of their lives growing old together.... Then gerry died.
P.S. I Love you is the touching tale of Holly's life after Gerry and her everyday struggle to cope on her own without her soulmate. Gerry had always said he would write her a list for when he was gone, and after his death Holly was both shocked and delighted to find out he had done just that. It is a heartbreaking story of one womans struggle to hold on to the memories of the man she loved, and eventually, her struggle (with the help of her late husband's letters) to try to let go.
The Author
~~~~~~~
Cecelia Ahern is the daughter of the now resigned Taoiseach of Ireland, Bertie Ahern. Her sister is married to Nicky Byrne from Westlife. Due to both these facts I always doubted whether she had been published through her own merrits, I know know that she is an excellent author and certainly deserves to have been published.

She was born in 1981 in Dublin and her first passion was music. She joined a girl group and then earned a degree in Journalism and media. It was not long after this she discovered her passion for writing and she soon had her first book P.S. I love You published. She has since then had a further three novels published and has had her part in many short stories and a tv series. She is currently living in Dublin working on her next novel.

What I thought
~~~~~~~~~~
As a rule I never read fiction, I think before this I have only read fiction perhaps once a year, however this book has shown me that even fiction can be interesting and to be totally honest I am even considering buying another book so different to what I usually read.
From the start of this book I cried, I cried the whole way through it and I cried at the end. I enjoyed it so much that once I got to the middle of the book I sat all day reading it in an attempt to get it finished.
It is a truly heartbraking read and anyone who has ever been in love would find it difficult not to shed a tear for the charachter Holly in the book.
I said I would never buy a book of Cecelia Ahern's as I did not believe she had gotten to the top all by herself, but now I know I was wrong and I would certainly buy another of her novels.
This woman has a flair for writing and the story of Holly and Gerry in this book is told in a very unusual way which managed to keep me interested right to the last page.
I would highly recommend this book and would even consider reading it again!
P.S. I Love you has now been made into a film starring Hilary Swank, but from what I hear it is no-where near as good as the book.
