Heart warming fairy tale (PS, I Love You - Cecelia Ahern)
Member Name: ktbainbridge
Advantages: Warm tale of true love and recovery from disaster Disadvantages: A little cheesey P.S. I love you was the first Ceclia Ahern book I read. I am glad to sayI read it years before the film came out as I know plenty of people who are said to be dissapointed by the film, having read the book! As this was the first book of the sort I had read I was unaware as to how the format would be or the sort of book this would be. This book takes the form of a modern day fairy tale. The book starts off with a bad event, the main character (the female half of a young couple, that had been together since childhood) lost her husband, young, from a tragic illness. Obviously she is devastated, as he was her life, and as far back as she could remember, always had been. The book marks her journey of her growing and healing and enabling her to move onwards with her life. She begins to find notes that her partner had left before he died, one per month and they mark the progression of her journey, to becoming a stronger person, yet still remembering him. She learsn that moving on does not mean forgetting and is not a disloyalty. This book is heart warming and has a happy ending! Summary: Better than the film! |
