Advantages: Good story

Disadvantages: No the same as the film

WARNING if you are expecting this book to be exactly the same as the film then you may be disappointed. PS I Love You was Cecelia Ahern's first novel. I read this book when it was initially released so the film wasn't about at the time. The book is different to the film in many ways and I think it is better. The book is set completely in Ireland rather than in America and the love interest, William, isn't in the book. However, the letters are the same in both the book and the film.

The story follows Holly whose husband Gerry dies at the beginning of the book. To help Holly continue her life Gerry has written a set of ten letters that Holly receives gradually over the space of a year. These letters are a cause for concern for her friends and her mum. They feel that the letters may be keeping Holly stuck in the past, when in fact the letters are helping her forwards into the future.

This book in my opinion is very good; it did make me cry throughout the majority of it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance.
