Ages and ages ago, I ended up buying a DVD called P.S. I love you, me and my family was going to watch it, when all of a sudden my friend told me that there is a book called P.S. I Love You and you have to read it before you watch the film. I am so glad they had texted me right as I was putting the disc in. Anyhow, my friend lent me and my mom the book. My mom read it in August, and then gave it to me. I didn't get around to reading it until a few months ago.

Cecelia Ahern is the author of this book; I had vaguely heard of her but had actually never read a book by her. On the basis of this book alone, I found her writing style really easy to read, and it seemed you didn't know which way you were going to turn and what will happen, this reflects in everyday life as you cannot honestly choose which path to go down and keep in a straight line, you'll always end up going into side roads as others cross your path. This is probably what made this book brilliant, and even though my wish list has way too many books on there now, I shall be adding Cecelia's other books to it, to see if they are as good as this book!

We follow someone called Holly, who had a husband called Gerry, in the first few chapters we find out about there relationship and then the death of Gerry. This starts off really good, but then a package that got dropped off at Holly's parents house makes Holly wonder, especially after grieving for a long time.

She opens the package to find out that Gerry has constructed this list of things Holly should do. This was all imaginary with her, Gerry and his friends, all joking about the fact that Holly wouldn't be able to cope without Gerry, only now this list is very real, and just maybe, Holly will be able to cope without Gerry.

But what has Gerry really got in store for her?


This is a typical love story, which just made me surprised to find out about, I was so happy that Gerry had thought of the idea, and it made me think that it is what anyone would've wanted to happen.

This book was very easy to get into, and I truly loved it right from the start. I would personally say that it is humorous, which is good, especially when Holly features in the papers and the rude cashier says that they aren't a library, so she ends up picking every single newspaper she can find and pays for it all including sweets and more just to annoy the cashier and create a queue!

I think the story was really interesting and the ending was superb! I loved the characters all too much and feel that I'd loved it if the author did a sequel as I'd be really excited!

So do I think this is the book for you? Well I think everyone will love this book but, let me tell you not everyone will admit to that and anyone who says they didn't like it are people who cannot own up to the fact that it is a brilliant book!
