Advantages: contains all the text you will need

Disadvantages: its a bit heavy to carry with you

This is a fantastic text book for anyone studying psychology at AS level or A level

There are 50 chapters in this book so it coveres everything you could possibly need to know and sometimes in a lot more detail than you actually need but i like that aspect of the book.

Each chapter has an introduction, telling what it was all about and at the end of each chapter there are summaries of what you have just learnt which i found to be very helpful when revising as it meant i didnt have to go over the whole chapter again.

This book has been reprinted many times, this is because as new evidence becomes available to explain certain things the old version becomes out dated, mine is 8 years old now and doesnt have a cd but i believe the new version also comes with a cd rom to help with revision aswell as other material not in the book.

my favorite parts of psychology and this book were criminal, cognitive, social and developmental psychology.

This book is realy easy to understand and is very useful in a lot of subjects not just psychology.

There are over a 1000 pages to the book and it is just under £30 which is quite reasonable for a book with so much info in it.

Summary: A must for any psychology student
