The Man on Platform Five is a story about two sisters Gresham and Eupheme who one day while their train is stopped at a station noticed a train spotter called Ian. Eupheme bets Gresham the other that in 5 weeks (I think that is the length of time my memory is a little hazy on that detail) she can make in him to normal hunky man. In time for Gresham engagement party. And before she can re-tract the bet. Eupheme is off the train and chatting to the young man. He does turn out to be a train spotter. Only after having spoken to him does she realise that it could be a lost cause but gives him her card any way. The young man works in a supermarket lives at home with his ageing mums ...

The Man in the Rubber Mask by Robert Llewellyn is a must for the Christmas stockings of anyone who has ever watched and enjoyed 'Red Dwarf'. For anyone not familiar with this successful BBC comedy, it is the story of a mismatched crew of ne'er -do-wells, marooned on a space ship in the future and their adventures as they try in vain to get back to earth.
