 ... has been giving me and Other Half a good deal of pleasure ever since. Over the past 2 and a half months, I have been gradually dipping into this book as my mood and time suits to come up with little gems that have made me smile or laugh or think. Other Half has also been enjoying this book, and we find ourselves often referring to lines we have read in it - perhaps this doesn't yet qualify us for "advanced banter", but it certainly makes conversations that bit more amusing. "Advanced Banter: The QI Book of Quotations" is a bit of a hard thing to review. It is a reference book, and as such has no plot and little discernable structure to describe - and books without plots or with little discernable structure are very difficult to discuss without making them sound deathly boring. But deathly boring is one thing this book is not, and I will do my best to try and convey how charmingly wonderful it really is. As the title suggests, it is indeed a book of quotations.
