Outstanding writing (The Rainmaker - John Grisham)
Advantages: electrifying read Disadvantages: none
This is yet another magnificent work by John Grisham. You begin comfortably but the twists soon get you and you don't know what is going on. The main character, Rudy Baylor, is complex and interesting, and his life is turned over so that he relies on two cases he found at an old peoples home. One is useless but the other turns out to be pure gold. He stumbles apon the very peak of a massive iceberg that is just waiting to melt, taking an insurance company down with it. It is tense and exciting, touching and sad in parts but other parts are sheer brilliance and enjoyment. You go through a full range of emotions while reading this book and it is brilliant, right to the very end. Summary: |
