This book was the recommended text for a course I took this year on software project management. Unlike most textbooks of this sort, the book has a very readable style, the book never becomes too technical. The facts presented in the book are backed up by data taken from numerous studies. McConnell is a software consultant, who has worked for Microsoft among others. Indeed, this book is published by Microsoft Press, its just a shame they couldn't use this book to improve the quality of some of their own software!
