Advantages: Good crime thriller

This is the first book that I have read by the author Jefferson Parker and after reading a review on Dooyoo I was pleased to find a copy in my local library and so addictive was it as a read that I managed to consume it over a day and a half, it is an easy book to read and a bit of a page turner.

It is a crime thriller and the central character is a police officer called Merci whose life is thrown upside down when the man she is in a relationship who is also in the police is the suspect in a murder. The plot is quite simple in this book however it also has a number of well written twists that manageto keep you guessing all of the time.

Merci is an interesting character as she is a single mother who lives with her father who himself is a former cop and acts as a child minder for her as well as providing advice based upon his own experiences.

I was impressed with this book, it is well written and the characters are well defined and it certainly draws you in to the plot in a very short space of time. Certainly I will be looking out for more work from this author in the future.
