Simply one of the best childrens' books, children will love the mischief that these characters (and Dahl) get up to in these (slightly) twisted versions of traditional tales. Snow White, The Three Little Pigs and Cinderella are amongst thetales retold in verse with Dahl's delicious biting humour. Superbly illustrated by Quentin Blake, the illustrations alone would make you howl. No Dahl book is quite the same without Blake. Roald Dahl has to be one of those authors that everyone knows. I certainly loved all of his books when I was younger, and they are all still going strong today even though sadly he is no longer around. One of my all time favourites was his book of 'Revolting Rhymes' and I am just beginning to enjoy it second time around as my daughter start to discover it. Revolting Rhymes is a series of longish poems which are based on six of the most well known fairy tales, such as 'Cinderella' and 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'.
