Soon Mr and Mrs Tortoise were both fast asleep and so Shelly decided she would leave her bed of warm leaves and she went outside to see what the winter was like. Ridiculous! Is a lovely hard back book which I managed to pick up for my eldest. It is part of the Ready Steady Read collection which I will explain about later. The cover of the book has a picture of a tortoise covered in snow and wearing a red bobble hat. The title is above this in Blue lettering and at the very top of the cover is a sparkly red banner with the ready steady read logo in. The back cover is lilac and has a short paragraph explaining about the story. The story starts with Mr and Mrs Tortoise telling their daughter Shelly that the Winter is here so it is time for bed.
