Growing up I was a huge fan of Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series, first the television show, and later the books. My fascination with the character and the era is probably what sparked my original interest in history, and military history in particular. So it was with some excitement that I started reading Urban's story of the 95th Rifles' Peninsular war. The source of much of the information in this book comes from the collections of letters and diaries, many previously unpublished, which Urban has managed to track down.
