This was one of the first fantasy sagas I ever read, however there were not as many books then. The writing style is captivating, with rich characters and descriptions adding to the action. This is a series that can be returned to time after time due to the wide ranging nature of the books. The Rift war Saga covers a great deal of time as well worlds. The Saga starts out with an excellent book called Magician. The reader may look at this, seeing it is thick, and be put off. However, unlike many other lengthy books this book maintains interest all the way through.
