Its strange how you leap to completely unfounded conclusions based upon a title. I assumed, quite wrongly as it turned out, that Somebody Someday would be a biography (being in the biography category enhanced this impression) which charted the meteoric rise to stardom, from humble beginnings, of Robbie Williams. A transition from nobody to somebody. Instead this is simply a tour diary, although its not a diary in the traditional sense of the word. Instead it's a series of observations from a bystander rather than a crew member on a tour which turned out to be anything but typical unless of course a documentary crew follow Robbie on every tour. Its not ... Read the complete review

I received an e-mail from Amazon supposedly from Robbie himself, promising me deep dark revelations about himself in this book. The first page of the book promised me ‘Robbie Williams, inside my tour, my head, my pants’. Instead I found it disappointing. ‘Somebody, Someday’ is not a biography of Robbie Williams, despite the hype and marketing material - it is a diary of a tour. It is a nice looking hard back book, heavy, glossy and with a great cover – sultry Robbie on the front and check chappy Robbie on the back. There are dozens of pages of quality photos inside, both colour and black and white. A few of my favourites are ... Read the complete review

Some of the words in this review are from those I used on other website reviews of this book. Living in the States I find it next to impossible to get my hands on any legitimate news or information about Robbie Williams. If you can believe it, I never even heard of the guy until I saw him on MTV Europe when I was staying in Paris in early 2004. That's how obscure he is in the place where celebrity is what people eat for breakfast. Indeed I was dumbfounded by the fact that he has been selling records in the millions for quite a while now. (incidentally, for a provocative if not entirely acceptable explanation of that phenomenon, see Mark Simpson's critical ... Read the complete review

I am a big fan of Mr Robbie Williams and I have been for about 3 years now, to me he seems to just keep getting better and better. I love all of his songs especially Angels, Road To Mandalay, Eternity and Let Me Entertain You. My Boyfriends Niece knowing how much I like him bought me his book Somebody Someday as a Christmas present and I was well buzzing. It's quite a thick book with over 250 pages. It is a hard back book with a paper cover which features a very cool picture of the man himself on the front and the back. Inside the cover there is Robbie's autograph and being the very cheeky person he is instead of writing All The Best he ... Read the complete review

This book was not as good as I expected it to be. It was again lent to me by a friend. Who buy’s many of these types of books. The words are by Mark McCrum and not Robbie himself, which makes it a bit disappointing. There are some quotes from Robbie but not many. Most of the book is like reading a diary. Mark McCrum comes across as if he is just writing what is happening whilst watching Robbie in action. Sounds very good I know but also very boring. There are none of the personal touches that you get with other books of this kind. It is a very hard book to get into and to be honest with you I read most of it but gave up in the end through bordom. ... Read the complete review
