When I was small my mum would make me cry. This may not sound very nice but it was my choice that she did so. "Please, pleeeease mum! Read me the Sloopy poem", I'd plead. She never wanted to, and would try everything to persuade me to listen to something else ... but I would keep on ... she would give in ... and I would cry. I've since come to believe that there is a seed of sadness within us all. A Cat Named Sloopy is one of the poems by Rod McKuen. It still makes me cry, but there again so do some of his other poems.
