C N Mindham`s fourth edition of his Roof construction and Loft conversion series is a definite must for carpenters and builders everywhere. I bought the third edition about 4-5 years ago as I had a big and quite complex roof to do. It proved invaluable. While I had done lots of roofs before I wasn`t very good at reading technical drawings. The chapter on this really helped and, the next time I looked at the drawing it was a lot easier to understand. I could see how the roof was going to work in my head before actually working on it.
