Advantages: Great story

Disadvantages: ---

This book was written by Julia Donaldson. Room on the broom begins with the witch flying through the wind on her broom with her cat. As the story goes on the witch loses parts of her possesions, her hat, bow & wand. Everytime the witch loses one of her possesions she commands the broomstick down so she can retrieve the lost item and and each time makes a new animal friend and lets them on her broomstick. Finally the weight of 4 animals and the witch is too much for the broom and it snaps in two. All the witches new animal friends fall into a bog and the witch is almost eaten by a dragon until her new friends save her by working together and pretending to be a monster rising out of the bog. Once they have got rid of the dragon the witch gets out her couldron and tells her friends to all throw something in and she does a spell to make a new broom with a special place for each of them.

Me and the twins love this book, though i'm not sure who gets the most fun out of it! I act like a nutter when i'm reading it and the twins 'tap the broomstick' and laugh a lot all way through it.The book is easy and fun to read as it is writen in poem, the pictures are good and easy for children to follow th story with. I feel the book teaches children a lot too, the witch meets a lot of new friends through the story which will teach kids to be friendly and meet new people, the witches friends rescue her from the dragon which teaches them to be nice and stick up for each other and not pick on people. The book also teaches children to work together as the witch and her friends work together to make a new broomstick.

I enjoy reading this book to the twins and they enjoy listening to the story so I would definately recommend this book.

£5.99 is the recommended price for this book which is what I paid for it but you can get it cheaper if you look around.
