Roscarrock is written by Gloria Cook, who you may know from the series of books that she wrote, The Pengarron Trilogy. Roscarrock is set in and around Porthellis, a fishing village in Cornwall. We start the book with a tale of children playing together, children that come from the families of the fishermen, poor yet at this time happy. Then tragedy strikes. The book then transports us to a time ten years on; lives are still the same, the fishermen and their families reliant on good catches to eke any kind of existence.
