I have read this book so many times to children of different ages, and they tend to love the simplicity of it. ~~~~~THE STORY~~~~ "Rosie the hen goes for a walk". The first page starts it off in the style of the whole book...simple but effective. Rosie is a chubby little hen who I always imagine to be a bit of a busybody, and off she goes for a walk... unbeknown to her, she is being followed by a big bad fox! So there she goes quite oblivious to the fact that she is being followed, and the story follows her journey. Rosie is a hen. A big, bright red, rather two-dimensional hen, with a very 1970's feel about her. And Rosie's walk is just that.
