Advantages: Covers the best things of the entire country. Small & easy to digest.

Disadvantages: Not good for people who prefer in depth details. Doesn't include pricing & opening hours.

This is a very good little book for people paying a visit to New Zealand who are visiting a few different places but don't know much about the country or what they want to do which is the catagory I fall into.

It has 77 pages & is in Full colour throughout. The way the book works is by detailing thoroughly 25 of what the writers believe are the best experiences that you can have in New Zealand.

These experiences cover many different things. Some are activities. Some are culinery delights & some are places of extreme beauty. Each experience has two full pages devoted to it. This usualy has a large full colour picture & 1 - 2 paragraphs of text detailing the item & why it is so special.

The things that I read about that sound the most interesting are the Tranz Alpine Express. This is a train ride from one side of the country to another. The other is Hunghi. This is a traditional feast with food cooked in a special way indicative of Moari culture. Sounds really tasty.

If you want a little guide book which is a light read & simple to digest I would definitely recommend this book. If you want something more detailed or are visiting a specific City, it might be worth looking at something else.

Summary: A good little book. Worth a look, depending on what you want from your guide book.
