The Royal Marines Fitness Guide contains lots of guidance for anyone wanting to achieve a higher level of fitness, whether it's preparing for training, losing weight or putting on muscle mass.
I received this book on the Christmas of 2009. I'm now in the process of joining the Royal Marines, this book truly did inspire me to join.
This fitness training guide is not for the faint of heart. It's tough and contain very long, strenuous exercise regimes, but if you are truly serious about joining the elite Royal Marines, then you'd better stick it out.
The book contains instructions and a background to the physical training that all Royal Marines recruits undergo and how truly challenging and demanding they are. Although the training regimes contained in the book are very well structured and achievable.
The book is packed with facts and step-by-step instruction accompanied by hundreds of colour photographs. The manual provides you with all the tools and information you need to put together a training programme specific to your own targets, and to adapt it as you surpass your expectations and really does help you to pass the limits you didn't even know you had!
It not only helps your fitness but also gives a background and view into the lifestyle of the Royal Marines or the Military in general.
I would very much recommend this book to anyone seriously looking to drastically improve their fitness, and if they're very much serious about joining the Royal Marines. This is not a regime for if you want to lose a few pounds.
