Advantages: Some Good Photographs.
Disadvantages: Half The Text Is In German. Some Poor Quality Photos. Expensive.
"Royal Weddings," is a collection of photographs spanning Weddings from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan, as well as several other countries. Also included is information detailing each Wedding.
I bought this book for two reasons. The first was because I am a photographer and was interested in the photographic value of Royal Weddings. I was curious to see how good the photos were, and to also act as a reference source for my own photography. The second reason was because my mother (who sadly has not been well for a while) has 'a thing' for Royalty, and I thought she would enjoy it.
First impressions were good (mainly thanks to the cover), but discovering that half of the text is in German (duplicated from the English text) and therefore of no use to the reader was the first disappointment. Some of the photos were disappointing in terms of quality and size. There also wasn't a great deal of information, which was a shame.
It's not all bad. There are some stunning photographs in the book, and it was nice to see that it covers not only British Royal Weddings, but Weddings from around the world, which was a pleasant surprise.
But by the end of the book I was thinking "Is that it?" I suspect that most of the photographs and the information provided in the book, could be obtained with a quick Google search, and this combined with the problems above, makes the price tag (£25.00 at the time from Amazon.co.uk) seem a bit too much.
Still a good enough book if your a hardcore Royalty fan - I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Otherwise it was a bit disappointing. Maybe I'm being too kind with three stars, but some of the photos were really good, and even my mother enjoyed it.

Summary: Thanks For Reading.
