Lee Child main literary creation is Jack Reacher a former military policeman who after leaving the service has led a nomadic life drifting around the United States getting into various situations which have ended up with him using his experience in he military and his ability to inflict pain on those who get in his way. For those of you who have read one of the earlier Jack Reacher adventures such as Killing Floor or Die Trying this particular novel stand up pretty well to these. In my opinion it is not as good as the early pieces of work buy it is still an enjoyable gripping thriller and a page-turner. Having now read all of the series it may well be that I’m beginning to find Child’s writing a little predictable, partly this is because you start to ask yourself how can one man be in the wrong place so many times in his life. If the characters and the plot lines begin to lose credibility then the story fails to draw you in to it, in effect you may stop caring about the outcome. ... Read the complete review
