Description: ISBN 184454284X / Author: Sara Davis / Genre: Biography / Sara Davies' story is one of abuse, neglect, betrayal and, ultimately, ... more
Running from the Devil - Sara Davies ... survival. When Sara was only five years old, her violent father began to sexually abuse her. She suffered in silence for many years, as her father took advantage of her innocence and her mother turned a blind eye to the horrors that were taking place in her own home. It was only when Sara found the courage to tell her mother what had happened that the truth about the trauma and abuse she had suffered came out. In an attempt to rebuild her life, as a teenager, Sara became a model but even this choice was to lead to more misery when she discovered that the agency had been drugging and abusing her. Despite the horrors that Sara has endured, she has survived and, partly by telling her story, has overcome the past to re-build her life.

I picked up this book from my local Tesco Store for the price of £ 9.97. I then read it within eight hours as it was so shocking that I couldn't put it down. Sara Davies book is one of the most horrific stories that I've read in a long while. Throughout reading the book I laughed, cried and felt very angered at times. This author deserves nothing but admiration and one hundred percent respect for being courageous enough to write this memoir! Her father disgusted me, and made me feel physically sick at times. Her mother was of no use what so ever, never showing her daughter love or affection. Sara was treated like an animal and has still managed to ...  Read the complete review
