I had this book bought for me from my husband as he knows how much I enjoy Danielle steel.I found it to be a fantastic novel and have read it a couple of times. The language is somewhat heavy and too intense at times, but I believe that it is the result of heavy and intense powerful emotions which Danielle Steel, as a mother, must have felt while penning this book. I can just imagine the grief she must have felt while plunging back into the memories as she re-lived both the good and bad moments all over again. I think this is what explains the heavy, sometimes too long sentences. In addition, the flow of feelings is quite raw in the book; there is no undertones or no prim editing to the sentence structure. This book has to be the best book she has ever written and must have taken a lot of courage to write, this book is about her son nick who suffered most of his life with mental illness. This is a daniellas true story which is what makes this book so heart wrenchingly painful to read. From the second nick was born he was daniellas world, he meant everything to her as all our children do to us but by the time he was 19 he was dead.
