I received this book as a present when i was about 8 and it was a fantastic childrens book. It follows the story of Sam, a cat, who buys sunflower seeds and eagerly waits for them to grow!! His impatience gets in his way but is told by his ladybug friend that he must be patient and wait.. and continue to look after them by watering and giving them sunlight.. soon enough, he sees them sprout, grow and gets excited and cannot wait for them to bloom... and once it does, he's in for a sure surprise!! ***Background*** Kate Perry has written quite a number of books that help make learning things fun with additions like pop ups or in this series of books, flaps. Axel Scheffler is well known for his collaboration on many books with Julia Donaldson and his style is unmistakable. ***The Story*** The book starts with a cat lazing about in the sunshine.
