Black Widow - Jessie Keane

Rating:
Black Widow - Jessie Keane This is my first Jessie Keane read and it certainly won t be my last. Black widow is the second book in a trilogy, but it can easily be read as a standalone as the reader is told briefly of the history between characters. Black Widow is based around Annie Carter wife of Max, the head of the Carter Clan. Annie, Max and there 4 year old daughter Layla are living in 1970s Majorca when there is a hit on them, leaving Annie alone at the house and Max and Layla gone. In a fight to save her family Annie travels to London to rescue them anyway she can. This was a well written book with twists and turns at every corner, it will certainly keep you ...

by Clareowen - written on 02/10/09 (Useful, 47 readings)
Rating:
I recently was given this book after commenting to a friend that I had read The Take by Martina Cole. The author Jessie Keane is being held as the "new Martina", mainly due to their subject matter being similar. Dirty Game focuses on two sisters from a broken family who work in a club owned by the leader of the local gang. One sister is plain looking but reliable and is chosen by the owner as suitable wife material, the other is feisty and beautiful and he cannot resist sleeping with her on the night before his wedding. This one act leads to revelations that break a family apart, taking the sisters lives poles apart and deeper into gang crime and revenge. ...
