~ Who is Schnitzel von Krumm ~ The name makes me think of a German or Austrian Baron or the like but in fact Schnitzel von Krum is a dog. I'm no dog expert and I may well have this wrong but he looks a tad like a daschund or some mixture. ***Background*** Lynley Dodd has written a whole series of rhyming books featuring a scruffy dog called Hairy Maclary. Each one is filled with amusing tales of this lovable mutt and his friends. Schnitzel Von Krumm is one of Hairy Maclary's friends and gets a story all to himself in this funny and clever book. Her other series about the scrawny cat, Slinky Malinki is also a popular choice by young readers.
