Advantages: is there any? It's under the Point Horror Publishers?
Disadvantages: EVERYTHING!
As many of you know I have set myself a task to read all the point horror books I have. I am actually getting quite bored with them, which is shocking, however they are really good, and I am revising as well so maybe I prefer to read books rather than do revision, so I'm trying not to read until exams are over, as if that'll happen. I have just done an English Exam today, so this review might not be perfect. I have 6 more Point Horror books to review; I have read all of the Point Horror books I have.
I am officially a massive fan of the Point horror books and I'm dreadfully upset to find out that they've gone and disappeared. I love the way these books are created and I think they are a real inspiration to everyone who would like to go down the author career route, as they are simple but brilliant. And if a publisher did the same as Point Horror has, then tonnes of new authors would find limelight. Famous authors (from the Point Horror series) include R.L. Stine (see review on "Hit & Run"), Richie Tankersley Cusick (See review on "Trick or Treat"), Malcolm Rose & Caroline B. Cooney to name a few. Although there has been a few books from this series I've read that I thought the author should have became famous only they didn't, here's a few I think: Samantha Lee (Read Reviews on Demon & Demon II), Sinclair Smith (read review on "The Waitress"), Linda Cargill (read review on "The Dark") and Carmen Adams (read review on "The Claw"). If Point Horror had lasted for a little longer I reckon these authors would have been famous, and I really feel for these authors, it usually is the ones whose books are quite possibly the better ones of the series.
As you might have noticed, I have not included this author in the list above and that is because I thought this book wasn't at all good. It was annoyingly boring and I am happy that Point Horror disappeared as it stopped authors like this one from emerging. Anyhow this book is in a special spin-off series to the Point Horror series. This series is "Point Crime". Not many books were released under this series. Peter Beere hasn't released many books and most of them have actually been released under the Point Horror publishers.
This book was really boring, and I remembered when I was reading it, how I forced myself to finish the book. I've never been so un-excited to read a book under Point Horror publishers. But I managed to finish this book in a matter of days as there are only a few pages. Whether the story went too quick for me or it just didn't draw my attention, I don't know; all I know is that you should definitely not buy this book!
The book is about Ali and her friends, who are trying to solve a mystery puzzle. This puzzle is about death and murder. A teacher has drowned in the school's lake, but nobody knows whether it was an accident or on purpose, so Ali and her friends look into the case and suspect the gorgeous Mr Slade. But the riding school boy called Danny, has hidden secrets that could mean it's his fault. But then somebody else is killed and everything gets out of control, Ali and her friends are next to be targeted but can they solve this murder mystery before it kills them all?
I cannot believe that my synopsis of the book makes this book sound brilliant, maybe I should publish that little paragraph, it'll be a much better book than this book. I don'[t know what else to say, I've stated that it was rubbish and that I think you shouldn't get this book, and I have nothing else more to say about the book!
So I thank you all for reading, rating and commenting and I hope you will continue to rate and comment. Thanks!
