Dune - Frank Herbert:
... Herbert s dune is a futuristic space opera that sees two rival factions, House Atriedies and the more warlike House Harkonnen, vying for control of a desert world by the name of Arrakis that bears a rare and hugely powerful resource known as "spice" that both facilitates psychic abilities and allows for fast interstellar travel. Tailchaser's Song - Tad Williams ... are disappearing and game is scarce. Something dark and dangerous can be scented on the wind. When Fritti Tailchaser s beloved also vanishes, he sets out to find some answers. Our hero s adventures include pacts with squirrels, predictions by an oracular frog, visions both mysterious and terrifying, a visit to the court of the Queen of Cats, and a most deadly battle between good and evil reaching out from the dawn of catdom. With the help of Pouncequick the hero worshipping kitten, Roofshadow a beautiful, sorrow-stricken, but loyal friend, and Eatbugs the eccentric wanderer who is only truly mad when the winds blow across the hills of his memory, Tailchaser finds fa... Magician - Raymond E. Feist ... is a tremendous example of the fine writing that can be found in the fantasy genre, and should be read by all those who profess to enjoy high fantasy. The book starts out a little bit slowly, setting up the story for the rest of the book and mainly introduces the idea of The Kingdom of the Isles and how it is ruled (classically and almost stereotypically medieval in style), but ramps up fairly quickly. Hunted - P.C. Cast ... is the fifth book of the collection House of Night Novels. In order to be able to understand the whole book I reckon everyone should start with the first book of the series. Even though the author makes small descriptions of past actions, I still think the best way to understand and enjoy a novel is to read it since the very beginning. To be honest this is my major complaint with the book, the remarks made to the past (I reckon they were written so anyone can catch up with the history even if they started by reading from the second, fourth...book) are very boring to a reader that has follow up the series since the beginning. The remarks are boring and a bit long... Read the full review: Amazing NOvel by berrituz |
