Advantages: Honest, easy to read and very interesting

Disadvantages: Too much swearing

I bought this book because I like reading about real life things from ordinary people. I find it interesting to hear stories from people who aren't authors but that have something important to say. This book did exactly that.

The book is well structured explaining life in the prison service in the words of this man. It starts at the beginning and ends when he loses his job. It is fascinating to read about what goes on in prisons and what is covered up so we don't hear about it.

It is a very brave account, if it wasn't for men like this we wouldn't hear what really goes on. It is very honest and you really feel like you're getting to know this man as it is personal too.

The only thing that I didn't enoy was the constant swearing throughout. I can appreciate that it is written using the language that might be used in prison but sometimes it gets too much.

Worth a read though, very interesting and honest.
