I first read this book in the summer prior to starting my A levels. Part of one of my courses was political philosophy so I thought it would be beneficial to read someone's work who is a big name in the field, and so I read 'On Liberty' by J.S Mill. It is not a particularly long book, approximately 120 pages, but it took me absolutely ages to plow through it. I found it ridiculously hard to read. And it was not because the ideas presented are so technical that you have to be a genius to understand them.
