Chick lit is not my usual source of reading but this was bought for me as a present and I thought I would give it a go. I really enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong. It isn't deep or challenging at all but it is entertaining and easy to read and was quite funny in parts as well. It even inspired me to write my own book!

The main gist of the plot are marital problems and a falling out with a best friend - very basic stuff but it is handled well and humorously. It is very entertaining and at times has a unique take on things. The 'affair' is so funny and yet at the same time, you really can feel the genuine emotions that run through it.

As with many humorous books in this genre, it is written as a diary and therefore is told solely from the main character's point of view. Some people have the opinion that this limits characterisation and although this can be true, the positive side of this is that you cannot guess the plot twists and turns as easily and so are left guessing for longer, which is fun.

The best thing about this book is the fact so many incidents you can just imagine happening to you personally - or maybe that's just me and my weird life!

The book retails at £6.99 and worth a read.
