Although ... more  ... the main series is flawed, and is seen by many Marvel fans as being pretty laughable, Jim Shooter the then editor-in-chief at Marvel and writer of the series tries to squeeze in lessons in philosophy, love, the cosmic and the mundane but does it with such clumsy dialogue and plotting that it can get embarrassing, this collection does have some value.
I grew up on Marvel comics in the 1980s and as a sampler of all that was good & bad in that era this is a great collection. If you want to wax nostalgic over that era ...more |
