friend but she s got big problems of her own, & Mum s in no state to put things right. As you d expect of a Jacqueline Wilson story this is a heartwarming tale that deftly weaves together several storylines & a varied cast of lifelike characters. Dixie is a classic Wilson heroine: young for her age with a beloved cuddly toy & a vivid imagination that helps her escape the grimness of real life. Her scatterbrained mother is fondly portrayed & her chaotic lifestyle - made worse by her complete trust in her horoscopes & tarot cards - is redeemed by her good nature & love for her very different girls. My friends and I all bought our copies and read them at the same time, ploughing through Jacqueline Wilson s unique writing style and absorbing every word. It was a fantstic book, but what made it appeal to us so much? The Diamd Girls is about a girl called Dixie and her three sisters, who are all opposite. The girls, along with their pregnant mother, move house but when her mother goes into labour, the girls are left to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, the sisters go their own way, and Dixie is left to help their mother with the new baby. Can she cope, or will it be a disaster? This book can be bought it hardback or ...

the characteristics of her father that she really didn’t want, yet she has those characteristics whether she likes it or not. This story is another wonderful masterpiece by Jacqueline Wilson, and something that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. This book is aimed towards older teenagers, and preferably into chick lit. As a Jacqueline Wilson fan, I have read many of her books, and once again, this lives up to her standard that she sets herself. I really enjoyed reading this book, and had fun in reading it. Overall, I rate this book as nine and a half out of ten, with the last half a mark being knocked off due to it not being able to relate to true life. You get all of these ...
