The Secret of Crickley Hall - James Herbert
by welshfruitbat - written on 11/01/07 (Very useful, 208 readings)
Rating:
My favourite type of book has to be horror. I have read loads of horror books by many known and unknown authors, but my favourite author has to be James Herbert (with Stephen King coming in at a very close second). When I saw that James Herbert had a new book out, I dropped very heavy hints that I would like it for Christmas. Luckily Santa had taken heed of my hints and on Christmas this was one of my presents. THE PRODUCT The hardback version that I have is published by Macmillan and the recommended retail price comes in at a rather hefty £17.99. I have to say that as this was a present I am unsure how much they paid for it, but I have seen it on sale in Asda ...
The Secret of Crickley Hall - James Herbert

Rating:
I am a huge fan of James Herbert and have read every single one of his books. He is the greatest horror writer in my opinion and there is only one of his books which I don’t like. I bought it the day it came out and then I had actually read it within a week which considering it was a huge, thick hardback I did pretty well. I thought the book was excellent and one of his best and this is why. - What is the Book About? The Caleigh family have suffered a terrible tragedy and they have come down to Devon to ...

Rating:
The ghosts of Sleath is the squeal to Haunted, by James Herbert. It basically carried on from Haunted but you don't necessarily need to read the Haunted to appreciate this classic horror. Psychic Investigator, David Ash, goes to the town of Slealth where some sightings have been seen and weird things are beginning to happen. David is a non believer of ghosts but something has swayed his opinion in the Haunted, but he still denies the existence of the paranormal. In the village of Sleath reports from a widowed mother that her dead husband is still beating her son, even though they are both dead. A dead rapist come to haunt his victim and carries on his sordid ...
