Advantages: Wonderful rhymes and illustrations a great author
Disadvantages: none
These two wonderful books are by the author Dr Seuss. Generations of children have enjoyed the wonderful books by this author. Either wacky stories or snazzy rhymes. These two books are board books (in my collection) and are the rhyming type. There's a Wocket in my Pocket. This book is a tongue twister of different sounds and rhyming words. It shows how some words can be rhymed and others cannot or in this case can as Dr Seuss has made up some wacky names for his little monsters. A snippet from this book goes as follows: Did you ever have the feeling there's a Zamp in the Lamp? Or a Nink in the Sink? Or a Woset in the Closet? Sometimes I am quite Certain there's a Jertain in the Curtain. and it goes on I won't spoil it for you but with wonderful illustrations this is a great book for young children as they just love trying to say the names with you. Mr Brown can Moo can you? This book is another twister of words and sounds. It works brilliantly at getting the child thinking about what certain things make certain sounds and if they can copy them themselves. A snippet from this book is as follows: Oh, the wonderful sounds Mr. Brown can do! he can sound like a cow. He can go MOO MOO. He can sound like a bee. Mr. Brown can buzz how about you can you go buzz buzz? He can sound like a cork pop pop pop pop. and so on. Again I won't spoil the book for you but this one also has wonderful illustrations that the kids just love. And at the end of the book it repeats all of the different sounds which the children can repeat with you. My son loved this one so much I had to read it to him several times a day. Normally when this happens I get bored with a book. But I certainly didn't tire of this one. An excellent buy! The books I have were printed by Random House and their websi
te is http//www.randomhouse.com/ You can buy these books at nearly all of the leading book shops and they are usually very reasonable in price. Go on treat the kids and yourselves!
