Advantages: FASCINATING STORIES
Disadvantages: A BIT PRETENTIOUS
EXTREME is the title of Sharon Osbourne's autobiography.
Sharon mentions her childhood briefly which is always something I find tedious in autobiography's. The book starts becoming interesting when she talks about her father who was Ozzy's manager for many years. That was until he started taking Ozzy's money and then Sharon became his manager and the two fell in love. This is a great insight into the management side of music.
She talks about the many ups and downs she's had with Ozzy. There are so many crazy stories here that are beyond belief. It's a great section as you won't believe what happened. Some stories are traumatic like Sharon's miscarriages that shook her up. This is one of the few stories where I felt sympathy for her.
She talks in detail about her children Jack, Kelly and the forgotten one Aimee and all the problem they've dealt with particularly involving drugs. While Sharon is a caring mother I did feel she could have done more to stop this happening in the first place. The story about how she struggled after Ozzy's near death quad bike incident is quite touching.
Sharon writes about her recent television shows. The Osbournes which made the family famous is great as it tell's us that they were surrounded by cameras for months on end. Her American chat show and the X factor are documented in great detail too. This is wonderful stuff if you're a fan of these programmes.
Overall, this is a good read because there are so many wacky stories and tales to tell in her life. She is brutally honest and doesn't hold back at anything or anyone. Nonetheless, she does come across as arrogant and looks down on you as she writes. Sharon is a woman who is not tin touch with the real world, though she can't be blamed because of the live she's lived.
With lots of photos on her life and at nearly 300 pages avaliable from AMAZON at £5.49 this is a book full of fascinating stories.
