Newest Review: ... (what an awful name), Dena and Matthew. It really is cringe worthy stuff. Yes, I know that everyone thinks their children ... more

... are perfect, but don't assume that the rest of the world wants to hear about it. Anyway, the son Matthew had a fantastic life up to the age of 25, including completing his PhD. Of course according to Mavis he was irresistible to women (hmmm, I beg to differ having looked at the photos), highly intelligent and just wonderful really. Why a highly intelligent (and sober I presume - they never said he was drunk) man would be sitting on a roof stargazing with his girlfriend and be stupid enough to fall off is beyond me....more

Crowned Review Shattered - Mavis Marsh: Oh bring out the violins...... (961 words)

---Introduction--- Generally I don't bother writing reviews about books which already have good quality reviews written about them. However, my opinion is so different that I simply had to share it with you. 'Shattered' is the biggest load of crap I have ever read, and really the level of crapness is so high that it doesn't even deserve more time that I've already spent writing this. It certainly didn't deserve the time I wasted reading it - I very nearly gave up on several occasions, but I persevered, and I did it for you DooYoo - I don't think I'll even bother posting it on Ciao since I won't get paid. You'd better be ...  Read the complete review

Shattered is a true story which has been written by Mavis Marsh about a tragic accident which happened to her son. She starts to book with a short Prologue and then chapter one takes us back to her childhood. She was a war baby and grew up with her two sisters, mother and father. She openly admits that she was always the spoilt one of the family. As she grows up she has two very close friends who she would go dancing with and she still remains very good friends with them today. Mavis met a boy called Keith and in time they married and set up home. They soon started a family with 2 girls, Dena and Gaynel and then they had a son, called ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Shattered - Mavis Marsh: Shattered, like your heart. (791 words)

The book I will now review contains probably one of the worst nightmares any parent could anticipate, the fact that this is a biography detailing the entire scenario makes it even more difficult and heart wrenching to read. The book I will now review is "Shattered", by Mavis Marsh and ghost written by Andrew Crofts. The book starts with the awful words of the doctor that has done the pre assessment on Mavis's son Mathew - "Your son will be a cabbage for the rest of his life", said the senior doctor, "or a vegetable, or what-ever you want to call him". From that awful statement the story goes back to Mavis's ...  Read the complete review
