Shaw's personality was many-sided, but the common element of all its aspects is the rebellion to every established system and his revolutionary intonation which tends to become a habitual attitude in his writings. However, it must be noticed that his revolutionary tendencies have always remained English, that is, limited to a moderate expression of free thoughts. In fact, his Fabian Socialism advocated a policy of gradual cha,ge in opposition to those who required immediate and revolutionary action.
