Shooting Sean is the fourth book (to my knowledge anyway) featuring Dan Starkey, Belfast based journalist, the other three being Divorcing Jack (which was made into a film), Of Wee Sweetie Mice and Men, and Turbulent Priests. It was my first book featuring him, and I only bought it on the off chance after exchanging it for a book, which I was given for my birthday, which I already had. I didn’t really know what to expect – I hadn’t ever heard of Colin Bateman before, and the only thing I knew was that someone had told me Divorcing Jack was a very funny film.
