Celeste - Virginia Andrews
by CherryVegas - written on 06/04/09 (Very useful, 149 readings)
Rating:
choose to read, but I got it free as part of a deal, so thought I may as well give it a go. It s by Bestselling author Virginia Andrews, and is the first in her Gemini series of novels, and could be classified as a supernatural thriller. The plot in a nutshell is that Celeste s twin brother Noble loses his life in a tragic accident, pushing their superstitious and spiritually inclined mother close to insanity. Determined to keep Noble alive she forces Celeste to take on Noble s identity, pretending that Celeste was in fact the one who died. The real Celeste virtually disappears, only resurfacing when a boy moves in next door, stirring up wants and needs in Celeste ...

Lightning Strikes - Virginia Andrews

Rating:
Having been a fan of Virginia Andrews for so long I eagerly await each new release, 'Lightning Strikes' being one of the latest. It seems such a shame that such a talented author has passed on but thankfully her fanily could see her greatness and decided to get help with 'tidying up' some novel ideas she had had before her death. Lightning Strikes is the second novel in the series about the Hudson family. The main character in these books is Rain Arnold. She is an eighteen year old girl of mixed race sent to live with a family she never knew she had. This family being all white and because of their class, not really wanting to admit to having her as ...

real father who is apparently teaching there. There are other ‘side’ stories while she is in London but nothing seems significant. The writer (apparently a ghost writer as Virginia Andrews died in 1986) had obviously visited London by the descriptions of various places however; did they not speak to any English people while they were here? I would say not. Obviously this was written basically for the American market with not much consideration for the readers in other countries. Perhaps I am overly sensitive, but I found for the most part the general descriptions of English people as a whole were quite insulting Having read the other reviews of this book obviously ...
