Celeste - Virginia Andrews

What utter rubbish (643 words)
by CherryVegas - written on 06/04/09
Rating:

choose to read, but I got it free as part of a deal, so thought I may as well give it a go. It s by Bestselling author Virginia Andrews, and is the first in her Gemini series of novels, and could be classified as a supernatural thriller. The plot in a nutshell is that Celeste s twin brother Noble loses his life in a tragic accident, pushing their superstitious and spiritually inclined mother close to insanity. Determined to keep Noble alive she forces Celeste to take on Noble s identity, pretending that Celeste was in fact the one who died. The real Celeste virtually disappears, only resurfacing when a boy moves in next door, stirring up wants and needs in Celeste ...

Lightning Strikes - Virginia Andrews

Premium Review Virginia still lives on! (368 words)

She is an eighteen year old girl of mixed race sent to live with a family she never knew she had. This family being all white and because of their class, not really wanting to admit to having her as ...

Rating:

real father who is apparently teaching there. There are other ‘side’ stories while she is in London but nothing seems significant. The writer (apparently a ghost writer as Virginia Andrews died in 1986) had obviously visited London by the descriptions of various places however; did they not speak to any English people while they were here? I would say not. Obviously this was written basically for the American market with not much consideration for the readers in other countries. Perhaps I am overly sensitive, but I found for the most part the general descriptions of English people as a whole were quite insulting Having read the other reviews of this book obviously ...
